Editor’s Note: We’re excited to announce that Salesforce has closed its acquisition of Atonit! We’re thrilled to be a part of the Salesforce Family.
We are pleased to announce that Atonit has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Salesforce. It has been our mission to create a marketplace management solution that is both easy to start and ready to scale, which is why we originally chose to build this solution on the Salesforce platform.
Salesforce has been a company that has inspired us for many years, so it is particularly exciting for us to be the first company headquartered in Brazil to be acquired by Salesforce.
Marketplace capabilities are becoming imperative for leading commerce platforms and customer demand for more purchasing options and greater flexibility is growing. With Atonit, Salesforce will be able to offer a marketplace solution built on the Salesforce platform, connected natively to Commerce Cloud and other clouds.
With a Commerce Marketplace, Salesforce customers will have the opportunity to drive revenue growth by increasing cart sizes, earning commissions and receiving membership subscription revenue from vendors. Customers can also expand into categories quickly with minimal risk and with no inventory required.
The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2023 (ending April 30, 2022), subject to customary closing conditions. We’ll have more exciting news to share once that happens. After the acquisition closes, we look forward to sharing more about the product roadmap and what the deal means for Atonit and Salesforce.
